Naomi Scott’s role in "Smile 2" is not just about scares but is also a haunting portrayal of a global pop superstar unraveling under the weight of trauma.

In playing Skye Riley, Scott tapped into the chilling realities behind stardom as her character battles supernatural horrors.

"I'm very privileged and blessed to kind of live, relatively, in obscurity, in the sense that I can kind of go about my life," she said. "Obviously, Skye less so. But I think we all observe this, and I think we're kind of all complicit to this idea of keeping the show on the road and the expectations."

Scott added: "Fame can really add fuel to the fire of things that are already happening. It's not necessarily the most conducive environment to heal and work on things that you need to work on."

Parker Finn once again writes and directs the sequel to the 2022 blockbuster horror film which featured a terrifying story

"It was very difficult, it was a difficult movie," Scott said on the challenges of filming the movie. "But I actually feel blessed because first of all, I had an incredible support network."

"But also I kind of live for this in terms of: you want a challenge. I wanted a challenge," Scott continued. "I want to work on things that excite me creatively. And I also feel like Parker and I was such kind of creative partners in this."

Scott’s debut film was Disney Channel’s “Lemonade Mouth” where she first showcased her musical skills which she put to good use in this movie.

The singer-actress also recently released “Smile 2: The Skye Riley EP” which contains songs that she performed in the film.
