MANILA -- Sharon Cuneta took to social media to explain her absence from the ABS-CBN Christmas special.

In a post on Facebook, Cuneta said she had to beg off from the event because she was very sick.

"My body finally gave in to over-fatigue & Kiko (Pangilinan) had to text my boss Ms. Cory Vidanes to tell her I had been vomiting &
had come down with the flu, & as a result I couldn’t sing at the ABS-CBN Christmas Special taping," she said.

Cuneta added that she has started shooting for a new movie immediately after her last movie "Three Words to Forever" opened in theaters.

She also launched her album, and had to be there for her daughter Frankie's 18th birthday celebration.

"Gusto ko matulog ng 1 week straight. Pasko pa naman. Please - say a prayer for me? I don’t want to be sick during the Holidays naman. Thanks so much & I hope all of you are okay. God bless you & I love you all," she said.
