'Ang Panday,' 'Dukot' win major FAMAS prizes

MANILA, Philippines- The 2009 remake of Philippine classic “Ang Panday” and independent film “Dukot” bagged major awards at the 58th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences Awards (FAMAS).

The awards night was held at Teatro ng GSIS Monday night.

Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla’s “Panday” clinched the best picture, best story, best screenplay, best theme song, best child actor ( Robert “Buboy” Villar), and best sound awards.

“Dukot,” which tackles extra-judicial killings in the country, won best actor (Allen Dizon), best editing, and best art director awards.

Veteran director Joel Lamangan’s “Sagrada Familia” bagged the best director, best actress (Lovi Poe), best supporting actress (Gloria Diaz), and best supporting actor (Emilio Garcia) awards.

Other awardees were:

Best Child Actress: Maro Panganiban (Last Viewing)
Best Musical Score: Von de Guzman (I Love You Goodbye)
