MANILA — After nearly three decades, showbiz contemporaries Priscilla Almeda and Jomari Yllana have finally decided, “It’s time for us to be happy.”

Almeda, 43, confirmed she is in a relationship with her “first love” Yllana, whom she has considered as having “a special place in my heart” since she was age 15.

“I’m happy with him,” Almeda was quoted as saying by PEP.ph.

Almeda, who recently made a showbiz comeback via “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” co-starred with Yllana in the 1992 film “Guwapings: The Adventure.” At the time, she was known as Abby Viduya.

Yllana, now 43, went on to marry actress Aiko Melendez, with whom he has a son, Andre.

After his separation from Melendez, Yllana had a relationship with Joy Reyes, with whom he has two children. Their youngest was born in August this year.

According to Almeda, Yllana and Reyes had already been separated for more than a year “when I came back into Jomari’s life.”

Almeda, who was based in Canada before her showbiz return, has two children with her most recent partner before Yllana, and another from another past relationship.

She was not married to either man, Almeda clarified.

Before she flew back to the Philippines in July, Almeda said she and Yllana had already been in touch.

“We just mutually decided that it’s time for us to be happy. First love ko si Jom and we are given a chance to finally be together. Jom has always had a special place in my heart ever since we were 15. That has never gone away,” she said.
