MANILA – Singers Jaya and Kyla are now officially part of the Star Music family after inking recording deals with ABS-CBN’s music arm.
“Excited kami dahil alam niyo po na ang mga struggle natin sa music industry ay iba din talaga. Nagpapasalamat kami ng sobra sobra dahil isa sa pinakamalalaking recording companies dito sa Pilipinas ay nagtiwala sa amin. Gagalingan din namin,” Kyla said.
Asked what can be expected of them after signing the contract, Jaya said: “We still have to sit down and discuss kung anong direction ng music ang gagawin namin kasi talagang iba na ngayon ang industriya. There’s a lot of social media activities. Music has changed but for sure, Filipinos are always leaning towards that love theme.”
Since she has just transferred to ABS-CBN, Jaya said she considers this deal with Star Music as a way to “refurbish” her music.
“I would rather have them suggest something na nae-envision nila with me. Kasi si Kyla, she’s already visible. Ako, talagang fresh. Wala pa akong nagagawa with Star so ako 'yung medyo pressured kasi I’m not really sure kung anong direction. Pero trusted ko naman sila, they definitely would know where to put me,” she said.
Will Jaya also be appearing on “ASAP” in the near future?
“Nag-guest na po ako doon twice. Kumakatok po ako sa pinto ng ‘ASAP.’ Anytime naman, they ask me if I am available to sing for a certain Sunday. Ako, I believe in timing. I believe in God’s plans for me so I am just really here waiting. Hindi ako nagmamadali. I am just enjoying the ride,” she said.
