MANILA—The first part of the Southeast Asian Games opening ceremony at Philippine Arena on Saturday showcased the country's history through intricate yet powerful indigenous dances.
The second half, meanwhile, turned into a rocking performance that included the Black Eyed Peas' apl.de.ap, and a number featuring nationalistic songs by Francis Magalona covered by Iñigo Pascual, Elmo Magalona, and KZ Tandingan.
The other artists who hit the stage were Christian Bautista, Anna Fegi, Jed Madela, Aicelle Santos, Robert Seña, the TNT Boys and Lani Misalucha, who sang "Lupang Hinirang."
