MANILA -- ABS-CBN's newest daytime series "Langit Lupa" debuted on Monday and immediately made its presence felt among viewers.

With the hastag #LLFriendshipBegins, the series easily made the top trending topics on the microblogging site Twitter.

Starring Assunta de Rossi, Yam Concepcion, Miho Nishida, Tommy Esguerra, Jairus Aquino, Sharlene San Pedro, Ellen Adarna, Patrick Garcia, Jason Abalos and child stars Yesha Camile and Xia Vigor, "Langit Lupa" airs before "It's Showtime," replacing "Be My Lady," which ended its run last Friday.

In the pilot episode, viewers were introduced to Lala and Day, whose friendship started when they were still young girls.

They grew up and eventually Lala (Concepcion) falls in love with Ian (Garcia), while Day (De Rossi) falls for her childhood friend Joey (Abalos).
