MANILA — Here’s a rare sight: two Darna actresses in one photo.
The past met the present on Tuesday when Marian Rivera and Jane de Leon crossed paths at a media event of a beauty clinic they both endorse.
In an Instagram Stories update, Rivera shared a photo of a light moment with de Leon, captioned: “Nice to meet you, Jane!”
Rivera, 35, portrayed Darna in a 2009 TV series, the most recent screen adaptation of the Mars Ravelo komiks icon.

De Leon, 21, is taking on the coveted role in an upcoming film produced by Star Cinema and directed by Jerrold Tarog (“Heneral Luna,” “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral”).
According to De Leon, the casting of “Darna” is nearly complete, with filming due to begin in 2020.
De Leon, whose training for the project is ongoing, is the third actress to be attached to the titular role after Angel Locsin and Liza Soberano, who both had to withdraw due to medical reasons.
