MANILA - The daytime series "Be My Lady" starring real-life sweethearts Erich Gonzales and Daniel Matsunaga aired its final episode on Friday.
It was a happy ending for Pinang (Gonzales) and Phil (Matsunaga) as she woke up from a coma after giving birth to their baby girl.
The final episode of the show set Twitter on fire, with the hashtag #BMLEverlastingFinale becoming one of the top trending topics in the Philippines.
Directed by Theodore Boborol, "Be My Lady" tells the story of Pinang and Brazilian-Japanese Phil, who find love despite their differences in language, beliefs and culture.
The series also starred Al Tantay, Janice de Belen, Priscilla Meirelles, Yayo Aguila, Almira Muhlach, Yves Flores, Karen Dematera, MJ Cayabyab, RK Bagatsing, Devon Seron, Karen Reyes, Mike Lloren, Ana Abad Santos, Perry Escano, Marife Necesito and the comedy trio No Direction.
"Be My Lady" will be replaced by "Langit Lupa," which will debut on Monday, November 28.
