MANILA — Are Regine Velasquez and Sarah Geronimo finally staging a joint concert?

This was the enthusiastic question among fans of the music icons, as Viva Live released Thursday a teaser poster showing the two Kapamilya stars.

While their names were not mentioned, and only parts of their faces are seen in the poster, the singers’ features were instantly recognized by fans on social media.

“Asia’s Power Performers, soon!” Viva Live teased, with the dates February 14 and 15, 2020.

Viva Live is the unit of Viva Entertainment that produces concerts, live entertainment, and variety shows.

Viva Entertainment is the mother company of Viva Artists Agency, which manages Geronimo’s career; and of Viva Films and Viva Records, which have produced a number of Velasquez’s movies and albums.

Velasquez and Geronimo’s close relationship date back to 2003, when the latter won the singing contest “Star for a Night,” which her idol hosted. Velasquez considers Geronimo her “anak-anakan” in showbiz, having helped rear the pop star’s career since its inception.

If the teased collaboration is indeed a concert, it will be the first time Velasquez and Geronimo will headline one together — although they do regularly perform side by side on Sundays via “ASAP Natin ‘To.”

Since her transfer to ABS-CBN in October 2018, Velasquez has had back-to-back joint concerts with Kapamilya artists, Vice Ganda and Sharon Cuneta.

She has said one of the major reasons behind her network switch was to fulfill her dream of collaborating with other performers.
