MANILA, Philippines -- Upcoming singer Zendee Tenerefe believes that it just wasn't the right time for her when she didn't make it to ABS-CBN's talent search "The X Factor Philippines."

In an interview with "Bandila" on Wednesday, the teenager from General Santos said she was not just destined to be part of the recently concluded singing competition.

"Siguro po hindi lang talaga suwerte. At saka plano po ni God na hindi daw po muna," says Tenerefe, who also auditioned for "Pilipinas Got Talent."

"Parang pinapatapos niya po muna 'yung pag-aaral ka," she added.

Despite failing in her audition for "The X Factor Philippines," Tenerefe became an Internet sensation as “random girl” on the video-sharing site YouTube and recently made her US debut when she performed on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

For Tenerefe, her family is the main reason she continue to fight for her dream even after all the rejections she experienced joining singing competitions.
