MANILA — Regine Velasquez may be known as the preeminent “biritera” in local music, but she can also opt for tender and vulnerable notes, as fans were reminded with the release of her new track.
The original song about fighting for love, “Unbreakable,” is a duet of Velasquez and her fellow “Idol Philippines” judge Moira dela Torre.
The latter is known for her soft, “hugot” singing — a style Velasquez appeared to take on in their recording of “Unbreakable.”
“Unbreakable” is the theme song of the upcoming film of the same title starring Bea Alonzo and Angelica Panganiban as best friends, with Richard Gutierrez as the man who comes between them.
The Star Cinema production is directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, and is scheduled for a nationwide release on November 27.
“Unbreakable,” the Star Music track, was composed by Trisha Denise, Jonathan Manalo, and Vanessa Valdez. It was arranged by Arnold Buena, and was mixed and mastered by Tim Recla.
