“Halik,” the hit teleserye featuring the dramatic love quadrangle involving two married couples, once again topped trending topics on Twitter Friday, as the aftermath of a tense confrontation unfolded.

The November 9 episode of the RSB Drama production saw the husbands with their respective wives, after Jacky (Yen Santos) poured water on a drunk Jade (Yam Concepcion) at a party they attended.

Dismayed over Jade’s behavior, Ace (Sam Milby) didn’t think twice to oblige his mistress’ challenge to let her out of the car. With no other means to go home, the intoxicated Jade eventually passed out on the sidewalk — and was noticed minutes later by her husband, Lino (Jericho Rosales), on his route going home.

Lino initially dismissed the sight out of spite, but his concern for his wife moved him to stop his vehicle, to rescue Jade and bring her to her best friend Marissa (Nina Dolino).

Ace, meanwhile, made his way to his formerly shared home with Jacky, claiming he still has the right to stay there despite their separation. Jacky’s fierce new look, however, appeared to match her new attitude. She kicked Ace the second he grabbed her arm, before telling him to leave.

On Twitter, the episode’s official hashtag, #BasangHalik, once again became the No. 1 trend Friday evening, as viewers cheered on Jacky, and expressed admiration for Lino, among other strong reactions to other scenes as they unfolded.

The November 9 episode followed “Halik’s” most watched telecast since its August debut, with a nationwide rating of 29.3%, according to Kantar Media.

It remains to be seen if the breakout teleserye will be able to match, or surpass, this rating in the coming week, as the plot evolves to include a sex scandal involving Jade and Ace, as seen in the teaser.
