On "Tonight With Boy Abunda" on Wednesday night, the iconic singer opened up about her "mistake" of leaving the country to live with a man she loved at the time.

"What a big mistake that I did," she said, before recalling the years of abuse she endured for the sake of her toxic relationship. "That's when the suffering started . . . Ang hirap to get out."

She added that it wasn't until she found a letter from the man's wife telling him to come back home that she realized that she had had enough. "When I saw that letter, I gave it to him and I told him, 'You should go now,' " she remembered.

Ending the interview on a positive note, Corrales talked a bit about her happy marriage with Carlos Lopez, a Paraguayan businessman. They have been together for more than 16 years.
