SINGAPORE – Janella Salvador has been chosen to sing the theme song of Disney's “Moana” for the upcoming Philippine release of the movie this month.

This was announced on Tuesday at a press conference for the Disney animation film in Singapore.

During the event, Salvador got to meet Auil'i Cravalho, who provides the voice of the lead character, as well as the other singers from Southeast Asia.

This is not the first time Disney has tapped Salvador to perform. Last year, Salvador was chosen to sing "Happily Ever After" to represent the Filipino community during the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland.

“Moana” is a about an adventurous teenager who is inspired to leave the safety and security of her island on a daring journey to save her people.

Inexplicably drawn to the ocean, Moana convinces the mighty demigod Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) to join her mission, and he reluctantly helps her become a wayfinder like her ancestors who sailed before her.

Together, they voyage across the open ocean on an action-packed adventure, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds.

Along the way, Moana fulfills her quest and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity.

“Moana” is slated to open in Philippine theaters on November 30.
