MANILA — The country's largest heavy metal festival, Pulp Summer Slam, has announced its headliner for its 2020 edition.
No less than a legend of the genre, Iron Maiden, will be bringing to Manila its "Legacy of the Beast" tour, which has been described as their most extravagant and most eye-popping show to date.
And that's saying something considering the decades-spanning career of the British heavy metal heroes, which stems back to their first chart-topping album, 1982's "The Number of the Beast."
Pulp Summer Slam 2020, scheduled on May 16 at the Mall of Asia Arena, marks the first time Iron Maiden will perform in Manila.
The lineup also includes power metal icons Dragonforce and Japan's kawaii-metal pioneers BABYMETAL, both of which recently released new albums, "Extreme Power Metal" and "Metal Galaxy," respectively.

Also announced were Death Angel and KING 810.
Iron Maiden's "Legacy of the Beast" world tour is named after a comic and a mobile game released by the band two years ago. The setlist, according to reviews online, usually contains a large selection of their '80s hits and songs from their later albums.
