MANILA -- Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano is now a grandfather as Samantha Godinez-Valenciano, wife of his son, Paolo, gave birth to a baby girl early Wednesday.

Samantha gave birth to Nataleia "Leia" Martine - her first child with husband director/singer Paolo Valenciano - on November 2 at 1:21 am at an undisclosed hospital.

Baby Nataleia "Leia", who weighs 7.9 lbs., is the first grandchild of singer/performer Gary V and his wife Angeli (Pangilinan) Valenciano.

The news was sent by Valencianos' friend Jackie Maniquis to ABS-CBN News reporter Mario Dumaual.

"I'll never look at a mother the same way again. They are the superior species! I can't believe I'm a dad," Paolo said.

"I'm speechless, dumbfounded... blessed... I remember Paolo...the day he was born," Gary V added.

Paolo married Samantha at the Manila Polo Club in February 2013. He revealed the gender of their baby in a post on Instagram last June.
