MANILA - "I'm really happy for her." Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda said he approves of the upcoming wedding of his former girlfriend, actress Kaye Abad.

The former "Tabing Ilog" star is set to marry actor Paul Jake Castillo this December.

In the interview on Pep published Tuesday, Miranda admitted that he is glad Abad, whom he broke up with in 2009, found love once more, and that he is rooting for her and Castillo.

"Even before na maging sila ni Paul Jake, nag-usap pa kami. Sabi ko sa kanya, boto ako kay Paul Jake. Sobrang close talaga sila and, ever since, I felt they have this connection," he shared.

"So, nung nagkita kami sa MYX, kaka-break lang yata niya. Sabi ko, 'Sino ang boyfriend mo?' Sabi niya, 'Wala nga, eh.' Sabi ko, 'Alam mo kung kanino ako boto, kay Paul Jake.' Tapos, tumawa siya."

He added: "Noong magpunta ako sa house nila, kasama ko sila Jay [Contreras], we were editing a music video. Dumating siya, kasama niya si Paul Jake. Sabi ko, 'Kayo na? I'm happy."

According to Miranda, he wishes Abad will start a family with Castillo.

"Sana magawa nila lahat ng dreams nila at magkaroon din sila ng family, iyun talaga ang gusto ko. Kasi, one of the regrets that I had, matanda na ako nang magkaroon ng baby," said Miranda, who is expecting his first child with wife Neri Naig.

"Na sana pala, noong 20 years old ako, nag-baby na ko, parang ganun. Para ma-experience ko yun. But, I think, perfect time ngayon. So I’m really excited na sana magkaroon na rin sila ng baby, and I’m glad na ikakasal na sila.”

In a previous interview, the 34-year-old Abad said that she wants to have three kids with Castillo at most. She also said that she would prioritize starting a family over her career.
