MANILA — The annual QCinema International Film Festival on Friday handed out Pylon Awards to winning entries, actors, and filmmakers.

“Babae at Baril,” which follows the daily struggles of a department store saleslady, took home top honors, including Best Director for Rae Red, and Best Actress for Janine Gutierrez.

“Cleaners,” a coming-of-age anthology about high school classroom cleaners, similarly won big, with trophies for best screenplay and best film.
