MANILA - Teen actress Ella Cruz opened up Wednesday about the stunt accident that left her unable to perform for the grand finals of the Clash of Celebrities segment of "It's Showtime" last October 10.
In an interview with DZMM, the 19-year-old Cruz, who was one of the finalists, explained how she suffered the injury during one of the rehearsals for her "buwis-buhay" routine.
"Mayroon akong ginagawang stunt na nagawa na namin siya nang paulit-ulit. Pero nung isang beses, pagkahagis sa akin -- nasalo naman po ako -- pero pagkasalo ng upper body ko, 'yung lower body at paa ko, umitsa at um-over sa head ko so nag-bend 'yung buong likod ko po," she said.
Cruz, however, added that she did not fracture any bones and that she was only advised to take a break from strenuous physical activities for two to three weeks.
The result of her medical check-up was in contrast to what Cruz earlier feared when she told her followers that her injury could have been "career-ending."
Cruz, whose recent shot to fame is largely due to her dance videos, is part of the cast for "The Prenup," a romantic comedy starring Sam Milby and Jennylyn Mercado. She plays the character of Mocha, the tomboy daughter of Wendy (Mercado).
