Radio DJ Ana Ramsey on Saturday received a standing ovation after performing a song close to her heart in the "Tawag ng Tanghalan" celebrity edition.

Ramsey stunned the audience with a cover of 1969 rock-and-roll song "Proud Mary," bringing the crowd and the judges to their feet.

She said she chose the song because of her late grandma: legendary singer and comedian Elizabeth Ramsey.

"Actually kinanta ko iyan kasi dati noong nabubuhay pa si lola nagfo-front act ako sa kaniya at kinakanta namin itong 'Proud Mary.' So parang ino-offer ko rin ito sa kaniya," said Ramsey, also known as "Sexy Diva."

(When my grandmother was still alive, I do front acts for her concerts and we sing "Proud Mary" together. So in a way, I offer this to her, too.)

"Nami-miss ko rin siya (I also miss her.)"

Contest judge Jed Madela said: "That was a very explosive performance, very very confident sa lahat ng aspeto, confident ka on stage and you are also confident with your voice."

The performance made Ramsey the winner for the day, besting other contestants such as Anton Diva, Patricia Javier, and Mike Luis.
