“Darna” star Liza Soberano, one of the most followed Filipino celebrities on Instagram, reached a milestone Tuesday on the popular image-sharing platform with a photo from the recent ABS-CBN Ball.
Her September 30 post, which shows her with on-screen partner and rumored boyfriend Enrique Gil at the charity event, has already garnered more than a million likes as of Tuesday.
The photo, taken by Gee Plamenco Jr., was part of a portrait series featuring celebrities styled by Perry Tabora for the ball.
Soberano’s look, in particular, was put together by the in-demand fashion stylist.
“Bubu bear,” Soberano captioned the post, referring to Gil.
With the million-strong likes, Soberano’s post is only the second from the Philippines to reach the milestone, after superstar Anne Curtis set the local record in November 2017.
Curtis’ most popular Instagram post shows her with now-husband Erwan Heussaff as newlyweds, taking in a majestic view of a New Zealand mountain range.
As of writing, Soberano and Curtis have 8.2 and 9.8 million followers on Instagram, respectively, making them the two most followed Filipino personalities on the platform.
Worldwide, social media superstar and makeup tycoon Kylie Jenner holds the record for the most popular Instagram post, with 18 million likes. That February 7 photo shows the first glimpse of her then-newborn, captioned with her name: Stormi Webster.
