Mariko Ledesma has said she is taking time out to deal with the "depression" she experienced following her controversial win on "Tawag ng Tanghalan."

Ledesma issued the statement on Facebook, after her decision to back out of the shows' grand finals scheduled to begin next week was revealed during Saturday's "It's Showtime."

"Hindi madali sa akin ang pag quit ko sa 'TNT' pero mas mahihirapan po ako kung ipagpapatuloy ko pa ang laban kung [ako] ay nag sa-suffer sa depression," she admitted.

Ledesma was given a spot in the grand finals last week, though many felt that "resbaker" Mariane Osabel, whom she defeated, deserved to have the chance to compete for the grand prize.

It led to fans accusing the contest of being "rigged" because of how low the judges rated Osabel's performance, which resulted in her being knocked out in favor of Ledesma.
