Mariko Ledesma has decided to back out of the grand finals of 'Tawag ng Tanghalan.' ABS-CBN

Mariko Ledesma has said she is taking time out to deal with the "depression" she experienced following her controversial win on "Tawag ng Tanghalan."

Ledesma issued the statement on Facebook, after her decision to back out of the shows' grand finals scheduled to begin next week was revealed during Saturday's "It's Showtime."

Ledesma was given a spot in the grand finals last week, though many felt that "resbaker" Mariane Osabel, whom she defeated, deserved to have the chance to compete for the grand prize.

It led to fans accusing the contest of being "rigged" because of how low the judges rated Osabel's performance, which resulted in her being knocked out in favor of Ledesma.

KIM NEMENZO GETS SPOT IN GRAND FINALS

Ledesma was scheduled to compete in the show's grand finals next week.

Her decision to back out was announced right before another "resbaker," Kim Nemenzo, was added to the roster of finalists.

Nemenzo joins Elaine Duran, Ranillo Enriquez, John Mark Saga, John Michael Dela Cerna, Charizze Arnigo, Jonas Onate, Violeta Bayawa, Julius Cawaling, Rafaello Canedo and Shaina Mae Allaga.
