There’s a connection between Jolina Magdangal and Angelica Panganiban that so-called ‘90s kids, or those whose childhood fall within the decade, may have a vague memory of.

While the two actresses rarely share the screen these days, there was a time when the biggest movie of their respective careers was one where they both had top-billing.

On Instagram, Magdangal shared a snap of her in a hug with Panganiban, approximating a photo of them taken in 1996 in a similar pose.

That throwback image is from the set of “Ang TV Movie: The Adarna Adventure,” where Magdangal starred as the human form of the mythical singing bird, and Panganiban, the girl whose life is changed from the magical encounter.

“I miss this little girl. I will always remember your chubby cheeks in Ang TV. Mwah, @iamangelicap. Thank you sa masayang kwento,” Magdangal wrote in the caption.

The 39-year-old Magdangal, who is eight years Panganiban’s senior, posted the photo shortly after the latter’s recent taping as a guest on “Magandang Buhay,” the morning talk show which Magdangal co-hosts.

The post, now with some 90,000 likes and nearly 800 comments, had many of Magdangal’s followers waxing nostalgic, with several recalling watching the “Adarna” movie inside the cinema.
