She has spent more than 10 years in front of the camera just so that she could support her family.
So it's only fitting that Kim Chiu's dad, William, and siblings would toast her achievements and thank her in an emotional episode of "Magandang Buhay" on Tuesday.
The Kapamilya actress did her best to steel herself when her sister told her while speaking for her whole family: "Thank you for always being our pillar."
But when it was her turn to give them her message, the "Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin" star could not help but give in to her tears.
"I'm very happy na narating ko ito ngayon kasi pinangarap ko ito eh, na matulungan ko kayo na magkaroon ng magandang buhay."
In the same episode, Chiu also talked about how she does not have any regrets, saying that entering showbiz at a young age paved the way for her family to patch up their differences.
Chiu was estranged from her mother, Louella, who passed away back in 2013, since she was nine years old, when her parents separated. She and her siblings grew up in the care of their paternal grandmother.
Saying that her fame allowed her to reunite with her mom before she died, she said: "I'm very happy with my life and what I've been through at wala pa akong pinagsisihan."
Chiu made a guest appearance on the morning show to promote her upcoming album under Star Records. The lead single, "Okay na Ako," was released early this month.
