Judy Ann Santos leads the cast of ‘Starla.’ ABS-CBN/Dreamscape Entertainment

MANILA — The trailer of “Starla,” the teleserye comeback of Judy Ann Santos, has been released.

Aired on primetime television Tuesday, the trailer of “Starla” introduces the character of Santos — a fierce and headstrong businesswoman named Teresa.

Driven by a long held grudge, Teresa is bent on owning Barrio Maulap, where she had bitter experiences as a teen.

In the process, she crosses paths with her father, Greggy (Joel Torre), whom she believes abandoned her and her mother.

Teresa’s plan to buy Barrio Maulap hits a roadblock when the farming community miraculously recovers from crises affecting the residents’ livelihood.

It’s revealed that a boy, Buboy (Enzo Pelojero), has been wishing upon a star, Starla (Jana Agoncillo), to one by one to fix the barrio’s problems.

Produced by Dreamscape Entertainment, “Starla” is from the same minds behind the hit inspirational series “May Bukas Pa” and “100 Days to Heaven,” among others.

It marks the return of Santos, dubbed local showbiz’s “Teleserye Queen,” to primetime television in a lead role, since 2013’s “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.”

“Starla” also stars Raymart Santiago, Raymart Santiago, Joem Bascon, Tirso Cruz III, and Charo Santos.

“Starla” is set to premiere in October.
