Sarah Geronimo is representing the Philippines in a music festival that will gather top artists from Southeast Asia and Japan in October, the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines has announced.
On Facebook, the Japanese embassy shared a video of Geronimo inviting Filipinos to attend the second iteration of the ASEAN-Japan Music Festival, to be held at NHK Hall Tokyo on October 4.
“Let’s all enjoy the show as I’ll be with the other ASEAN artists. Soon, the experience will be seen on Philippine TV. See you there!” the 30-year-old pop star said.
The 2018 music festival, which coincides with the 45th anniversary of the ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation, aims to foster warmer ties between the country and the regional organization.
Geronimo will be performing alongside several artists from Japan, as well as popular singers each representing Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Myanmar, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, and Brunei Darussalam.
