After the massive success of “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” his Star Cinema debut with first-time co-star Kathryn Bernardo, Richards received on Wednesday an award at the annual Seoul International Drama Awards.

Richards, 27, was recognized with the Asian Star Prize at the ceremony, which honors excellence in TV drama productions internationally. Recipients are selected by the Seoul Drama Awards Committee and the Korean Broadcasters Association.

On Instagram Stories, Richards shared a series of clips showing his turn on stage at the Grand Peace Hall of Kyung Hee University in Seoul, South Korea.

“It’s such an honor to receive this award,” he said in his acceptance speech. “Being a Filipino, I am humbled and grateful to be recognized in the international scene, along with so many amazing and talented artists here.”

“This award is also extra special to me because it comes at a time when we are celebrating 70 years of friendship between the Philippines and Korea,” he added.

“As actors, it is always our hope to make more people happy and inspire them with our passion,” Richards concluded.

Prior to Richards, Filipino recipients of the Asian Star Prize include Dennis Trillo in 2016, and Gabby Concepcion in 2017.
