MANILA - The mother of actor Gerald Anderson has broken her silence on the controversy involving her son and actresses Bea Alonzo and Julia Barretto.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News in General Santos City, Evangeline Opsima admitted she felt bad after hearing all the accusations against her son, especially those coming from Alonzo and her camp.

"Lagi mong pinapatamaan ang anak ko. Ano na ba kasama si Gerald?" she told Alonzo.

Opsima lamented how even Alonzo's makeup artist had something to say against her son.

Opsima said it seemed unfair that while Alonzo didn't say anything when she and actor Zanjoe Marudo broke up, she openly talked about her relationship with Anderson.

"Hiniwalayan mo si Zanjoe. You didn't say anything laban kay Zanjoe. Niliit mo ang anak ko," she said.

Opsima said she was against her son’s relationship with Alonzo, and argued with him about it.

Ina niya lang ako," Opsima said.

Opsima said Alonzo and Anderson should have just talked about their problems instead of going public.

Opsima apologized to her son for speaking up on the issue, saying that as a mother she couldn’t keep silent anymore.

"I'm sorry RJ, I know you're going to get mad to Mama. I think, son, it's time to voice out anong naramdaman ko, saan nasasaktan si Mama," she told Anderson.

ABS-CBN News tried to get the reaction of Alonzo but she hasn't said anything.

MESSAGE TO JULIA: 'WAG NIYO NA ITULOY'

Meanwhile, Opsima warned Barretto against getting into a relationship with her son.

O maybe three months, wala na kayo," she said.

However, Opsima clarified she wasn’t aware of any relationship between her son and Barretto; only that they did a movie together.

Anderson has already cleared Barretto’s name as a factor in his break-up with Alonzo. Barretto, likewise, denied she was the third party in the break-up.
