MANILA -- Actor Carlo Aquino is thankful for the chance to be part of the much-awaited historical film "Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral," with Paulo Avelino in the title role.

In press a conference on Thursday for "Goyo," the second installment of director Jerrold Tarog's trilogy set during the Filipino-American war in the early 1900s that started with last year's phenomenal hit "Heneral Luna," Aquino said he is just happy to be part of something that creates awareness about our history.

"Grateful kasi isa rin ito sa pinakamalaking pelikula na ginawa ko this year," Aquino said. "Tapos magki-create siya ng awareness tungkol sa history, kung ano ang nangyari noon sa battle of Tirad Pass."

In the movie, Aquino plays Col. Vicente Enriquez, one of the survivors of Tirad Pass.

"Ako kasi ang kababata ni Gregorio," Aquino said.

"Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral' opens in cinemas nationwide on September 5.
