MANILA — Anne Curtis’ latest big-screen offering, “Just A Stranger,” held it premiere night on Monday, and her husband, Erwan Heussaff, was nowhere in sight.
The restaurateur and vlogger opted to skip the high-profile event, Curtis said, because of his past experience attending a press screening of the actress’ movie.
“Natutunan na niya dati… ‘Yung pinakaayaw niya, kunyari may kissing scene, lahat titingin sa kanya, titingnan kung ano ‘yung reaction niya,” Curtis said ahead of the actual premiere night, during the August 19 episode of “Magandang Buhay.”
Curtis is paired with Marco Gumabao in “Just A Stranger,” which follows two strangers who meet in Portugal and start an affair, despite both being in committed relationships.
Trailers and promotional images for the Jason Paul Laxamana film include glimpses of intimate scenes between Curtis and Gumabao.
Explaining further why Heussaff is averse to attending premiere nights of her films, Curtis said: “Tapos ‘yung paglabas sa sinehan, ‘yung lahat, ‘How do you feel about the scene?’ Ayaw niya ‘yun.”
“Ang gusto niya na lang, papanoorin niya na lang sa regular screening with his own friends. Iyon na lang ang gagawin niya,” Curtis added.
Despite his absence from the premiere night, Heussaff has notably expressed his support for Curtis’ film through posts and comments on social media.
One such instance was his playful remark asking Curtis, “Who’s that stranger?” when she shared a photo of her with Gumabao on Instagram.
“It was funny, it was very light,” Gumabao said of his own interactions with Heussaff online. “Nakakatuwa na she (Curtis) has a husband who is very supportive of her, and ‘yung hindi siya nagseselos sa trabaho niya, at nakakaintindi sa trabaho niya.”
