MANILA -- Julia Barretto, 21, is now open to do more mature scenes with her love team partner Joshua Garcia for their upcoming series "Ngayon at Kailanman."

"I'm very open. Honestly because we are above 20. We are 21, turning 22," Barretto said.

"I also feel like it's also healthy to be able to explore and take a little bit of risk... I'm sure the creatives will do something about it."

"Saka sa 'Ngayon at Kailanman' mas nagiging mature na 'yung roles namin and we are adults na. So I'm very much excited," she added.

"Ngayon at "Kailanman" is Garcia and Barretto's first television series together after they starred in different blockbuster movies.

They were first paired in "Vince and Kath and James" with Ronnie Alonte in 2016. They followed this up with the quirky "Love You To The Stars and Back" and the Sharon Cuneta-Robin Padilla reunion movie "Unexpectedly Yours," which were both big hits in 2017.

Just last month, they starred in the comedy "I Love You, Hater" with a comebacking Kris Aquino.

"Super excited kami kasi after ng mabusisi at pinaghihirapan na pilot... eto na kami ipapalabas na kami sa telebisyon, pagkatapos ng 'FPJ's Ang Probinsyano,'" Garcia shared.

"It feels so good, so excited, so thankful, so humbling. Parang sasabog na 'yung puso ko sa sobrang saya. Excited and sobrang pasasalamat kay Lord, of course," Barretto added.

"Ngayon at Kailanman," which also stars Alice Dixson, Ina Raymundo, Iza Calzado, Ronnie Lazaro, Dominic Ochoa, Jameson Blake and Joao Constancia, will start airing on August 20.
