MANILA - Bayani Agbayani explained his reasons for declining an appointment as board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

In a report on website Pep, Agbayani said the appointment came at the time when his schedule was full.

He added that he does not want to accept the position when he knows he cannot do it well.

"Ever since naman, sa awa ng Diyos, hindi naman ako nabakante talaga. And natapat naman na nung in-appoint ako sa MTRCB board, e, talagang punung-puno," Agbayani said.

For Agbayani, it is important to be dedicated to one's job, especially when he or she is paid using people's taxes.

"Ayoko naman na magtatrabaho na hindi ko naman magagampanan 'yung trabaho ko. 'Di parang niloloko ko naman 'yung ibinabayad sa akin na mga taxes ng mga tao," he said.

Agbayani was appointed late last year but he declined the offer.
