MANILA - A 24-year-old from Cebu City is the first-ever winner of "BidaMan"-- the "It's Showtime" talent search dedicated to finding an actor who could be the next big thing in local showbiz.

Jin Macapagal came out on top after a 3-hour grand finals held at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao this Saturday, which tested the finalists not only in their talent for singing and dancing, but also asked them to act out impromptu scenarios with random actresses.

Macapagal's highlight was when he made host Vice Ganda turn emotional with his hospital scene with Jane Oineza.

The grand finals began with 12 finalists. They were then cut down to a Top 6, before being whittled down further to a Top 3. Eris Aragoza and Jiro Custodio joined Macapagal in the final round.

Macapagal won a management and movie contract, a house and lot, and a pick-up truck in addition to the P1-million cash prize.

He was also promised an appearance in the upcoming movie of Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis, a 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival entry.

Macapagal is the first winner of "BidaMan," which "Its Showtime" only introduced back in March.

The winner was based purely on the combined scores of a judging panel headed by the noontime show's creator Bobet Vidanes. Other judges include actors Joshua Garcia, Edu Manzano, Angel Locsin, Ian Veneracion, Nadine Lustre and director Ruel Bayani.

Its grand finals became the most talked about topic among Filipinos online, even trending worldwide on Twitter as it aired.
