Janice de Belen had her fans in a nostalgic mood, as she shared a rare photo of her with Julie Vega, a fellow 80s child star who died at the peak of her popularity.

The shoot was for promotional materials of the 1981 movie "Flor de Liza," going by an exchange between de Belen and talent manger Popoy Caritativo in the Instagram comments.

Most of the 400-plus comments were from fans reminiscing about the soap opera days of de Belen and Vega. Notably, de Belen starred as the titular "Flordeluna," while Vega is best remembered for "Anna Liza."

Aside from "Flor de Liza," de Belen and Vega co-starred in several other films, including "Mga Basang Sisiw," "Dear Mama," and "To Mama with Love."

Other comments surmised what could have been, if Vega were still alive.

"So love Julie, I cried so hard when she died," one fan wrote.

Vega died in 1985, weeks before her 17th birthday, leaving behind the still-ongoing "Anna Liza," among other projects. The soap ended airing without a conclusion to its story, due to its lead actress' sudden death.

De Belen remains active in showbiz. She is one of the principal cast members of the upcoming ABS-CBN drama series "The General's Daughter," starring Angel Locsin.
