South Korean pop stars Kang Daniel and Park Jihyo are dating, their agencies confirmed on Monday.

K-pop news website Soompi reported that JYP Entertainment and KONNECT Entertainment, Park and Kang's agencies, respectively, confirmed the artists' relationship.

Park is the leader and main vocalist of Twice, one of K-pop's most popular female acts, while Kang is a soloist and a former member of the now-disbanded boy group Wanna One.

The confirmations come after Korean news outlet Dispatch reported early Monday that Kang and Park were spotted on a date in Seoul's Hannam neighborhood last August 1.

Both Park and Kang topped Twitter's trends list in the Philippines following the publication of the Dispatch report.

Kang rose to fame in 2017 after winning in the second season of the popular South Korean reality show "Produce 101."

The show's 11 winners, led by Kang at the top rank, bested 90 other trainees and debuted in the temporary group Wanna One, which achieved commercial success throughout their year-long run.

Wanna One disbanded in January while Kang made his debut as a solo artist in July with the song "What Are You Up To."
