MANILA -- (UPDATE) Yamyam Gucong was proclaimed the Big Winner of "Pinoy Big Brother: Otso" at the grand finals night held in Imus, Cavite Sunday.
The 25-year-old who was dubbed the "Iskulit Bai ng Bohol" on the show garnered a whopping 58.52 percent of the total number of public votes.
Gucong is part of the second batch of housemates who entered the PBB house.
"Maraming, maraming salamat po. Sobrang saya ko po ngayong gabi dahil nasa inyong harapan ang ultimate big winner na si Yamyam!" he said.
"Napatunayan ko na sa aking sarili na kahit sa kahirapan, kaya nating bumangon sa buhay. Kaya nating humarap sa ano mang hamon sa buhay. Maraming maraming salamat at hindi po ako nag-iisa," Gucong added.
Gucong took home P2 million, a condominium unit, and a water refilling station package, among others.
During his stay, he showed his patience and perseverance, while keeping a positive and cheerful attitude despite difficulties.
Meanwhile, Kiara Takahashi finished in second place after receiving 30.29 percent of the total number of public votes. She won P500,000 and condominium unit.
Lou Yanong of Mandaluyong City placed third with 8.28 percent of votes, while "Amazing Alo-hunk ng Hawaii" Andre Brouillette placed fourth, with 2.91 percent of votes.
