A 9-year-old kid who was part of the hit musical "Ang Huling El Bimbo" is the first 3-chair turner of the new season of "The Voice Kids," the first episode aired Saturday showed.

During the blind auditions, all 3 of the coaches — Lea Salonga, Sarah Geronimo, and Bamboo — turned their chairs and fought over Alexa Salcedo and her cover of "Over the Rainbow."

Bamboo told her: "We think you are special."

It was revealed that Salcedo is an aspiring musical theater actress who played a part in the current run of "Ang Huling El Bimbo," a musical based on the hits of the Eraserheads.

Salonga and Geronimo shared that they had both seen her perform.

Ultimately, Salcedo picked her "idol" and choose to be part of the team of Lea Salonga.

Salcedo was the last contestant of Saturday's episode. Ramjean Entera, 7, and Tiffany Vistal, 11, also passed their blind auditions, picking Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo as their coaches, respectively.

This is already the fourth season of the local version of "The Voice Kids."
