She recently shared a quote from celebrated chef Julia Child, a legend in American television who's infectious enthusiasm for food inspired a generation. The line goes: "Find something you're passionate about and keep tremendously interested in it."

That, for Bea Alonzo, is cooking. And this Saturday afternoon, the actress approached her baking and pastry class with the same zeal those who grew up watching Child's "The French Chef" show had, happily sharing that she learned how to make puto, among other Pinoy delicacies.

"Didn't know how fun it would be to make your favorite childhood meryenda," she said. "It definitely brought back good memories."

"Naalala ko yung mga nagtitinda sa labas ng bahay namin dati nung bata ako. Ang sarap ng mga kakanin, simple lang. Minsan, mas simple, mas nakakapagpasaya," she added.
