'Bulag, Pipi at Bingi' composer Snaffu Rigor dies

MANILA - Veteran composer Roberto "Snaffu" Rigor, known to many as the man behind "Bulag, Pipi at Bingi" and other OPM hits, died on Thursday.

Rigor, 69, was diagnosed with lung cancer. He was a member of The 70's Superband with Nonoy Tan, Rey Magtoto, Monet Gaskell, Mon Espia and brothers Nitoy and Jun Mallilin.

Tan, who is also the chairman of the Filipino Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, Inc. or FILSCAP, confirmed the news in a message to ABS-CBN News.

"Today we mourn the loss of our dear bandmate, Snaffu Rigor. It is indeed a very sad day for the music industry. We the 70's Superband thank you for sharing your talent and beautiful music with us. We love you and we will miss you. Godspeed dear friend, and rest in eternal peace."

Prior to Rigor's death, benefit shows for the composer have been held.

Rigor is also known for composing the hits "Mr. Dreamboy" and "Larawang Kupas."
