MANILA - As a comedienne by trade, Melai Cantiveros has a knack for masking her problems with laughter, with one notable exception perhaps when she broke down over her troubled marriage after the topic of "forever" was brought up at a recent episode of her morning talk show "Magandang Buhay."

On Wednesday morning, viewers of her morning talk show were again treated to the Cantiveros they were accustomed to: the happy-go-lucky, quirky probinsyana they first met inside the "Pinoy Big Brother" house.

When co-host Karla Estrada mentioned Jason Francisco's first name out of the blue, Cantiveros stopped her. "Jason?" she asked, forgetting that Lyca Gairanod's older brother has the same name as her husband.

But compared to the tear-filled reaction she had last Friday, Cantiveros was in a more cheerful mood this time around. She laughed out of embarrassment, before throwing a message for Francisco, whom she considers her partner for life. "I love you," she said.

Cantiveros and Francisco broke up over what many perceived as a "simple" misunderstanding. According to Francisco, he decided to call off their three-year marriage because Cantiveros did not tell him that her onscreen partner for an afternoon series will last past the pilot week.

Cantiveros has since vowed to fix her relationship with Francisco, considering that they already have a daughter. Francisco has yet to elaborate on his Instagram posts revealing their split.
