A great voice, infectious optimism, and always willing to listen to criticism, most especially from her elders, to improve. Teen singer Zephanie Dimaranan has always been a favorite among the judges because she fits most of what they are looking for in an idol as a role model.

When she joined “Idol Philippines,” Dimaranan quickly became known as the girl who never gives up after fans found out that she did not let her previous heartbreaks and disappointments in “The Voice Kids” and “Tawag ng Tanghalan” keep her from trying to achieve her dreams.

And she took this attitude with her as each week passed: absorbing what she could to help her be better, growing in confidence as she figures out the style that fits her sweet voice the best. She has been compared to Sarah Geronimo and a young Regine Velasquez —and plenty seem to agree, if votes were anything to go by.

Only time will tell what kind of flower Dimaranan is blooming into, but there’s no doubt that a lot of her fans are just happy that she’s actually getting a chance to. A girl who could have easily given up, but didn’t. She’s already an idol to many young dreamers, whether she wins the competition or not.
