MANILA – The Filipino indie short film “Peksman” has officially been selected to be part of First-time Filmmaker Sessions 2020.

It is an online festival hosted by the Lift-Off Global Network that aims to bring together indie short films and features from around the world.

Produced by What About Productions, “Peksman” is described by executive producer Gillian Alvarez as a “story of hope and inspiration to the young people out there, that you have the power to change the world and create a difference as long as we believe in ourselves.”

“I think that’s what makes it so relevant in this pressing time. ‘Peksman’ is a shared dream for all of us – and we want you to be part of that dream,” she added.

Alvarez said What About Productions created this story to make its viewers “look back to your childhood, about how innocent yet brave we all once are.”

“We believe that there is still a little bit of that inside us -- if we look closely. Stubborn yet smart. We don’t want you to lose that,” she said.

“Peksman” stars Kyle Kaiser Almenanza, Jam Maynigo, Shane Carrera, Adrian Canlas and YD Diego.

According to the official release, the short film will be screened via Vimeo on Demand from July 26 to August 2 along with other participants of First-time Filmmaker Sessions 2020.
