Kaori Oinuma, who spent most of her teen years in Japan, is the sixth housemate to secure her place in the grand finals of "Pinoy Big Brother: Otso" (PBB), it was revealed on Saturday.

Oinuma, who is half-Japanese, endeared herself to viewers of the show because of her determination to help her family, sharing that she worked as a caregiver when she was 16.

A poll held Saturday decided that she gets the spot over her fellow Batch 2 housemates Karina Bautista and Jelay Pilones.

How it worked was that the reality show posed a series of challenges for the remaining housemates, pitting the finalists from each batch (a total of four) against one another. The winning batch will earn spot in the "Big Night," and fans will then need to vote on who among the members of that particular batch gets it.

Oinuma is the sixth housemate to secure a seat in the "Big Night," following Fumiya Sankai, Yamyam Gucong, Lie Reposposa, Ashley del Mundo, and Kiara Takahashi.

Being in the "Big Night" means that they are automatically in the running to become the "Big Winner" of this season.

Two more are set to be determined in future episodes.
