MANILA - Lead star Enrique Gil and director Paul Soriano graced the red carpet premiere of the independent feature "Dukot" held Tuesday at the Dolphy Theater inside the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.

The two were joined by cast members Shaina Magdayao, Ricky Davao, Bangs Garcia, and Alex Medina. Others present were Soriano's wife, Toni Gonzaga, teen stars Bailey May and Ylona Garcia, rumored couple Sofia Andres and Diego Loyzaga, as well as comedienne Pokwang.

"Dukot," which is based on a real incident in the country more than eight years ago, tells the story of Carlo (Gil), who was abducted and held at abandoned place as his kidnappers demand ransom from his parents.

According to Gil, it was one of his most challenging roles to date. "For me it was challenging, it's hard to reenact that situation you previously had no experience in. Pero you learn a lot," he said.
