MANILA -- After starring in several hit movies, Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto are excited to be finally bringing their winning chemistry to television in the upcoming series "Ngayon at Kailanman."

Since starring in the 2016 hit “Vince & Kath & James,” Garcia and Barretto have teamed up in several movies, including the critically acclaimed "Love You to the Stars and Back," "Unexpectedly Yours," and their latest "I Love You Hater," which opens in cinemas nationwide on Wednesday.

Yet despite their success in the movies, they have shared the small screen only once -- in an episode of the long-running drama anthology "Maalala Mo Kaya," which aired early this year.

"I think it's been my dream for Joshua and I to do soap opera," Barretto said in an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday. "I'm so happy na ang gagawin namin is a classic love story. Langit lupa, forbidden love parang Romeo and Juliet."

"I'm excited, sobrang ibang-iba ang character ko. This one is talagang complete 360, ibang-iba po talaga siya and same with Joshua. We are so excited na to do television," she added.

For the upcoming series, Garcia will be playing the rich guy, while Barretto is the poor girl.

"So nagkapalit talaga kami," he said. "Kinakabahan ako kasi siyempre hindi mo pa alam ang reaksiyon ng tao sa bago naming characters. Pero malaki ang tiwala ko sa Star Creatives na gumawa ng istorya, especially sa writers, napapansin ko na inaalagaan kami. The way namin ina-arte mabusisi, kasi mahirap talaga. Especially sa akin, hindi ako inglisero, napapa-English ako."
