MANILA -- Jolo Revilla plans to revive his acting career and go full blast this year.

Three times a week, he now tapes for his role as head of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) Harold Kasilag on ABS-CBN’s top-rating teleserye, “Ang Probinsiyano.”

“Tingin ko naman, kaya with the schedule,” Revilla said in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News. “I’m doing it right now. Nagpapasalamat ako dahil ang taas-taas ng ratings ng ‘Probinsiyano.’ Buong cast ng ‘Probinsiyano’ is really thankful. Overwhelming ang ratings namin. Sobrang ganda ng kwento. Talagang current events ang nangyayari.”

Revilla is thankful to lead actor Coco Martin for allowing him to be part of the primetime series. Revilla never imagined himself being cast in the top-rating soap as he joined “Probinsiyano” only two months ago.

“Last December, Coco and I saw each other at the airport and we were waiting for a delayed flight,” Revilla shared. “Then, I teased him, ‘Isama mo naman ako diyan sa ‘Probinsiyano.’” Without second thoughts, Coco said, ‘Oo naman. Ikaw pa. Basta hahanapan kita ng role. Hindi ka pwedeng lalabas na masama.”

Revilla added: “Enjoy ako doing ‘Probinsiyano.’ It’s a great honor. I’m very thankful to Coco because he brought back action through ‘Probinsiyano.’ Na-miss ko ang acting and showbiz. I’m looking forward to doing a lot of stuff.”

Revilla looks forward to his scenes with Martin in ‘Ang Probinsiyano’ in the coming weeks.

“Marami pa silang dapat abangan,” Revilla said. “The last time Coco and I worked together was in my launching movie, ‘Agimat: Ang Anting-Anting ni Lolo’ in 2002. Parehas pa kaming bata noon.”

Revilla proudly beams that Martin is now firmly entrenched in showbiz as a successful actor. “Ang laking pasasalamat ko kay Coco dahil binalik niya ang action through ‘Ang Probinsiyano.’ Ang daming nabigyan ng pagkakataon na maka-balik sa showbiz – from jobless stuntmen to comedians to actors.

“Mga artistang walang trabaho, naka-balik sa industriya at nabigyan ulit ng trabaho. Kumpleto recado ang ‘Probinsiyano.’ May drama, action, romance, family story. Kung baga sa coffee, hindi lang three in one, all in one.”

After seven years of not acting on the big screen, Revilla anticipates that his forthcoming trilogy film, “Tres,” will bring back action to the film industry.

The film is bankrolled by his family’s Imus Productions and also stars his two brothers – Luigi and Brian Revilla.

“I believe it’s about time that action will be seen on mainstream movies again,” Revilla said. “Alam naman natin na ang Imus Productions, kapag gumagawa ng pelikula, pulido.”
