MANILA — Whether due to her wig or her witty comebacks, Daniela of "Kadenang Ginto" has become an online darling of sorts, with trending scenes and memes that cement the top-rating series' popularity on social media.

In the latest running joke drawn from the hit afternoon drama, a humiliated Daniela (Dimples Romana), clad in a fancy red dress and pulling a matching red luggage, is seen on the street — her glamorous look a stark contrast to her environment.

The scene is from the trailer of the upcoming third season of "Kadenang Ginto," which will follow the reversal of fortunes of the warring Mondragons: Romina (Beauty Gonzalez) builds her own business empire, rivaling and in the process dismantling the one Daniela had stolen from her.

Released last Friday, the trailer was an instant hit online with its official YouTube upload garnering some 2.5 million views over the weekend.

It also proved to be a rich material for the latest "Kadenang Ginto" meme, where Daniela's walk of shame has her reaching tourist destinations and, hilariously, odd places such as a pageant stage or a wet market.

A lounging Romina, meanwhile, is an image of royalty in several takes on the meme. Whereas Daniela is pulling a carabao in "habagat" flood, Romina gets VIP treatment on a rubber boat, escorted by several rescue officers.
