The action-packed first teaser for “Block Z,” the upcoming Star Cinema zombie movie starring Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, was unveiled at the opening day of the 2019 ToyCon held at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City this Friday.
The first glimpse sets up the premise of the film: the country’s population is dwindling rapidly due to a mysterious infection.
A group of students led by the badass, axe-wielding character of Barretto must then fend off the menacing-looking zombies as they try to find a safe haven.
The reveal of the teaser capped off a presentation that saw the cast take the main stage of ToyCon and share their thoughts about shooting the movie, and what fans can expect.
There’s no official release date yet for “Block Z,” which is directed by Mikhail Red of “Birdshot” and “Eerie” fame.
The film also stars Ian Veneracion, Ina Raymundo, Maris Racal, Mccoy de Leon, and Dimples Romana.
