MANILA – Xian Lim has finally explained why he decided to take a break from social media last month.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Lim said he did not intend to make his fans worried when he bid goodbye to Instagram in May.

“Hindi siya showbiz. It’s more of social media. Mayroon kasi akong napanood lang na video na sabi, from time to time, kailangan daw natin mag-break sa social media,” he said.

“Minsan kailangan natin maging alone lang sa thoughts natin dahil doon tayo mas nagiging creative. Mas doon tayo nakakapag-isip. ‘Yung lang ‘yung story behind that,” he added.

According to Lim, he had to have a “social media detox” because he was meeting a lot of deadlines at that time.

“I was doing and still doing a film, concert, then the album I just finished a couple of days ago. Tapos I also have an art exhibit ngayong July 16, the day after the concert -- a couple of paintings tapos solo exhibition. So sabi ko, sige tigil muna ako dito then I’ll focus on the things I have to do then babalik ulit ako,” he said.

Lim has since returned to the image-sharing site.

Meanwhile, Lim maintained that his relationship status with Kim Chiu remains the same.

“Kung anuman ‘yung mga pinagsasasabi ng mga tao [na mali about us], then let it be. If that’s their belief then okay, that’s their belief,” he said.

While Chiu won’t be a guest on his July 15 concert at The Theatre at Solaire, Lim said the actress will definitely be in the audience.
